Hello Everyone! My name is Jennifer Hill. My friend, Chris Lundin, kept bugging me for years to come and try yoga at Body Language. So when I got bored with my fitness routine, I took her up on the offer. I have been active most of my life...running, aerobic classes, weight training, etc. but when I took my first yoga class, Vinyassa, I was completely hooked. It felt perfect to my body and spirit. Vinyassa is my favorite form of yoga. It is physically challenging, creative, and juicy! It became my calming refuge as I was raising three children, working and taking care of a sick parent. Now, I want to assist others in finding the joy on their mat as well as off their mat that I have found while practicing yoga. This fall I plan on enhancing my teaching certification by becoming Yoga Alliance Certified. Namaste'

Ricky Penn

Body Language has been an important part of my life for a LONG time. I started as a member here in 1985 (!) Three owners and 3 locations later, I am still here - working out, practicing yoga, managing the desk, and teaching yoga. Guess you could say I really like this place! I decided to train for and teach yoga to others because it has had such a profound and positive effect on my own life. When I am not here, I am busy with my business as a fiber artist at home in West Bloomfield. My life is blessed with great friends, three wonderful children, and, as a yoga instructor, the opportunity to help my students find their way into yoga and all it has to offer.

Jamie Oldfield

Jamie’s journey of yoga began over 10 years ago, culminating in her certification as a Yoga Teacher. To Jamie, yoga is about revealing your own inner happiness through good music and compassionate surroundings, to find the joy yoga has brought her. She is inspired daily by her husband, 2 children and dog. She believes that what you put out is what you get and that everything we learn on the mat helps us to be healthier and happier off the mat!

Susan Brennan

Did you know Susan won an award for designing a dress made out of toilet paper?  Her dream vacation is to go back to Norway, and her favorite book is The Alchemist.
Hello! I have always enjoyed fitness and have been a cheerleader for many years. I'm currently a member of the Detroit Pistons Cheer Team. I began practicing yoga (at Body Language) in 2009 after my lung randomly collapsed. I used it as a way to heal and strengthen my body. I consider my personal practice to be playful with strong determination. That comes across in my teaching as well. I feel it is a great honor to be able to share this wonderful gift with others. I look forward to seeing you on your mat!

Coby Shecter

Jacob Shecter or “Coby” studied at Michigan State University and
graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a specialization in
health promotion. Coby currently works at lululemon athletica Novi in
Twelve Oaks mall and he studied yoga at Citizen Yoga where he got his
RYT certification. He is also a certified personal trainer from the
American College of Sports Medicine and currently teaches yoga at
Citizen Yoga, 90 Degrees North, Power Yoga and Body Language Fitness
and Yoga.

Ray Ray

I am so grateful for finding yoga and it's an honor to share it with others. I often refer to myself as a yoga addict and an inversion junkie, I just love yoga and standing on my hands! I also love spending time with my friends and family, walking my dogs, traveling to new places, playing on the lake, and trying new things. My favorite foods are fruits especially, watermelon and honeydew! I also have a big sweet tooth, mmm chocolate! My guilty pleasure is taking naps. When I am not doing any of those things I am usually expanding my creative abilities as a web and graphic designer from home.

Ashley Oshinsky

Ashley Oshinsky was exposed to yoga at the age of 10 and has practiced on and off since then. Yoga has always been something important to many people in her family and naturally she caught wind of the wonder of yoga.

Ashley went to Birmingham Groves for high school and played basketball and water polo. She also graduated from Oakland University in 2013. Ashley currently is a Realtor and does property management from 9-5 but her true passion is yoga. She is the founder of Homies Detroit a yoga based company and community committed to uniting the yoga community through karma yoga events. She strives to create a space that cultivates self exploration, growth, and a lots of fun. Her love for all types of music ensures your ears will have a great time too! Her teaching style is fun loving, intense and creative.

Steve F. Feldman

Yoga can mean so many different things to different people. My favorite definition of the word yoga is “to join or bring together that which has been pulled apart.” I have been practicing yoga on the mat since 2003 and teaching since 2005. I am passionate about sharing a non-esoteric, challenging and yet very nurturing style of yoga. Practicing yoga is a great opportunity to increase our physical, mental and spiritual fitness level. I hope to meet you and see you soon!
