This time of year with the approaching of Thanksgiving, we are reminded to stop... pause... and consider all that we have to be grateful for.  The simple act of counting our blessings actually changes our brain chemistry...not only making us more content but actually making our brains healthier as well.  Of course for many found at the top of that gratitude list are our family and friends.  We all appreciate being surrounded by people who love and support us but you might be interested to know that the more positive connections we have in our lives (spouses, kids, friends, pets...) the happier and healthier our brains are as well.   

The Friday after Thanksgiving, I am leading a Partner Yoga class.  It is a great chill evening with simple yoga postures (that YES even your husbands can do!), calming music and a social hour to follow.  Its an opportunity for you to connect with your significant other or a friend.  Its also an opportunity to let us help entertain those out of town guests.  And lastly its an opportunity to maybe make some new connections as we all get a chance to socialize afterwards with a glass of wine and some munchies.  I have taken Partner Yoga with my husband, with my daughter and with a girlfriend and in every instance have thoroughly enjoyed that quality one on one time to connect for an entire hour.  

 

So let this message be a reminder to all of us to take time to be grateful...to count our blessings...and maybe pick one of those blessings and invite him/her to Partner Yoga Friday, November 28th at 7 pm.  Would love to have you join us!!
