As I sit down to write these antics I can’t believe we are already more than ½ way through July… and am hoping that you, like me, are taking every opportunity to soak up every minute of this amazing but short lived Michigan summer!! That being said, we are entering our last month of our Summer Challenge… I’m playing right along with you and have to say that it has been truly a challenge to get 20 different teachers in!! I’m getting close (just 5 more to go), but fully aware that I’m going to have to really “shake up” my schedule in order to get those last 5 in.
So since I’m assuming I’m not the only one needing a little assistance, we are going to “shake” the schedule up for you to make it easier for us all to get those last couple of teachers in. During the month of August, all the Saturdays on the fitness side are being given an extra “shake.” Different class options including p90x, Strong, Summer Sculpt, Zumba, Kickboxing, Barre & Pilates and different teachers to pick from all at different times every Saturday. So check your app before you show up, sign up for that teacher you need to complete your challenge and come try something new!
And, of course, if you aren’t in the Summer Challenge this is still a great opportunity for you to personally challenge your body and your brain by “shaking it up!!” Our bodies love muscle confusion and will more likely respond by being willing to drop those last few extra pounds or to just tone up in areas that we have maybe missed or neglected. Our brains love learning new things, new steps, new patterns…all of which generate more connections in our brain and, of course, these connections are essential in staving off dementia and Alzheimers.
