My motto is "This is your massage!" Dependent on your needs, I can use a combination of Deep Tissue, Sweedish, Trigger Point Therapy, and stretching to meet your individual needs and I will do my best to facilitate healing. My passion is to massage and teach others how to self treat and prevent. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Melt Instructor, and Occupational Therapist. I recieved my Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from Wayne State University in 1998, and then persued Massage Therapy in 2008 at the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage. The MELT Method, "Hands off bodywork" became my tool of choice to control how my own body feels and to share with my clients for self care. I hope to help you find the benefits of Massage and Melt to keep you healthy and happy and living the best version of yourself!
A teacher since 2006, Julie is both a Registered Yoga Teacher, and an Anusara-Inspired yoga teacher. She has studied yoga, therapy and therapeutics, alignment, philosophy and meditation with many of the world’s most respected instructors.
Yoga promotes wellness and healing for both body and mind. One on one training using precise postural alignment can be very healing for injuries and pain, and will allow Julie to work with you personally to address health issues that may not be covered in a group setting.
Are you new to Yoga or afraid to try a class? Private or small group training with personal attention is an excellent way to comfortably transition into Body Language’s community classes.
Shaina has made caring for people her life.
She graduated from Michigan State University in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, and was nominated for Nurse of the Year in 2013 and 2014 at Crittenton Hospital, where she works on the Rehabilitation floor.
She takes pride in empowering people to take their healthcare into their own hands and get back to the life they want and deserve. Shaina decided to become certified as a MELT instructor after suffering from chronic hip pain. MELT made such a difference in her life that she wanted to help share it with others. Teaching MELT has given her a way to help people do just that - and in the process, it has become her passion.
I started practicing yoga over 30 years ago. I soon found that my true calling was to be a yogi. Yoga became, and still is, very fundamental to my life. I practiced and studied classical yoga (8 limb style) with Dr. Pratap in Philadelphia. I studied with John Schumacher (Iangar style) while in Washington DC. I also studied with Johnny Kest at The Center for Yoga here in Michigan. I have developed many styles to teaching yoga. You could say my style is eclectic, which has given me the dubious title of a “Legend”.
