Andrea's Antics October 21st, 2015

wine_weekend_2105  So as many of you have likely seen on facebook we just got back from an amazing weekend with 19 women up in Traverse City. Our theme for the weekend was an extension of my last antics in which I referred to Dr Laura's advice where she described the gap between our expectations and our reality as frustration or self imposed suffering.

So I took this theme this weekend and wove it into our yoga classes...in fact the day of our wine tour when the sun was struggling to peek out and the temps were a bit frigid I referred to a sign I saw in the resorts gift shop..."some days you just have to create your own sunshine." This sign was a perfect and timely example of bridging that gap between our expectations of a warm sunny day like last year and the reality that this year was not going to meet those expectations. But if you saw the pics on Facebook, it is easy to see that these amazing women did bridge that gap by making their own sunshine everywhere they went. They even surprised Chris and I at the end of the weekend by buying us the sign that we saw in the gift shop!! The sign is now hanging in our office as a reminder to all of us that we have the ability to adjust those expectations...to peel away a layer of self-imposed suffering and to make our own sunshine. Thank you ladies for the gift and for all the sunshine every one of you shared all weekend long. Cheers!!!
