I think awhile back I may have shared this simple concept with some of you, but as we approach this holiday season I feel it bares repeating. My dad was a Methodist pastor, and one of his sermons that I will never forget, and have often referred back to, was about how to pull ourselves out of a pity party.

Maybe this time of year you, like many of us, are overwhelmed by holiday expectations... maybe you are missing a loved one or maybe you just have been feeling a bit down. Well my dad offered us 2 simple solutions. 1) Find a way to serve someone else, and 2) Count your blessings.

There are obviously many ways for us to serve others at this time of year, but Body Language is offering a simple way for us to serve people right in our back yard. For Body's Blast challenge this month, we are encouraging students to donate to Open Door, which is an outreach center that serves those in need in our community. Simply stop at the front desk...make a minimum of $1 donation to Open Door...write on your BL dollar what YOU are grateful for and hang it in on our Body's Blast board. You get to serve others and express gratitude all in one goodwill gesture!! And as a bonus, perhaps these 2 simple acts will allow you to begin to emerge from any funk that has the potential to cloud your holidays.

Lastly, the staff at Body Language wants to take this opportunity to let you, our Body Language family, know that we are hugely grateful for each and every one of you. We are so blessed that each of you have found your way to us. We undoubtedly count you as one of our blessings this holiday season and look forward to serving you for many years to come!!
