Yep it’s true!! I would say it was a tough love gesture but nonetheless I don’t get it back until July 1st. What??? I have to admit that her reasoning was right on. I love the challenge of getting my steps in. It’s a personal challenge but also fun to compete with friends and family members. But, what started as an awareness tool has recently become a deterrent to balancing my workouts with yoga. 

 

You see you just don’t get steps in yoga!! Ha!! That kind of sums up Chris’ hand slapping slash Fitbit stealing message to me. She is around me enough to know that I really do need my yoga!! I need the balance in my mind and my body. And, although the 10,000 step goal set by the American Heart Association is a great goal for cardiovascular health, it is only measuring one parameter of health. We also have to consider the fat burning potential of cardiovascular exercise as well as the de-stressing benefits of yoga and meditation. Thinking I’m not alone here and that this might be a message to others as well. Maybe you, like me, have given your power to getting your steps on your Fitbit and neglected your yoga practice or your weight training. Maybe it’s just that you always do yoga or always do fitness and you are aware that you, as well, need to seek a little more balance?
