I wanted this week's Andrea’s Antics to piggy back on my Nutrition Nibbles that was posted on Facebook this past Sunday. I hope you have been taking the time to listen to these “nibbles” of information.

 

If not, perhaps consider tuning in each Sunday moving forward. The Nibbles this past week was on the value of exercise in helping to regulate our appetite and ultimately helping to manage our weight!! Now, I know you might think I’m “preaching to the choir” but the truth is many of you are either not consistent with working out, or you have limited your workouts to just cardio or just yoga, or some of you come to only one favorite teacher. The key is this: Show up & Shake it Up!! Show up...4-5 times per week. Do something at least every other day. Your metabolism will stay boosted for 48 hours after you work out which not only means you will be consistently burning more calories but that your energy levels will stay elevated. When we feel energized we are way less likely to succumb to emotional eating!! 


Secondly, Shake it Up!!!! The whole premise of BL is based on mixing it up!! We have nearly 90 classes a week to pick from, as well as 37 different teachers. When we change it up and confuse our muscles we are more likely to break through those stubborn plateaus and lose those unwanted pounds. Changing up our workouts also benefits our brains. Different synapses are created in the brain creating more of a reserve which is so important to have as our brain begins to age.  


So you have until the end of June to sign up for our Summer Shake Up challenge. It’s simply a tool we have created to keep us all “Showing” up this summer and, because in order to complete the challenge you need to attend 20 different teachers, it also encourages us to “Shake” it up as well!! Only $15 to play and then you can sport a fun BL hat upon completion as a reminder of your accomplishment!! Keep it simple this Summer and just Show Up & Shake it Up!!!
