I recently got the chance to hang out with a handful of girlfriends for a weekend get away. As is often the case, the latest weight loss diets and nutrition trends was one of the hot topics of conversation. After sharing my thoughts with these ladies, Chris and I got to talking about how the tendency is to flock to and follow the advice of friends or celebrities who have lost a lot of weight, while we tend to discount the choices of those who have maintained an ideal body weight their whole lives.
Consider for a moment how many times you’ve lost those same pounds time and time again by following the latest craze only to gain them back. Maybe not right away but eventually those pounds creep back onto your hips and waistline. And yet there are many great examples of staff and students at BL who have maintained an ideal body weight and haven’t needed to jump on the latest band wagon to lose weight. If you followed them around and used them as examples I will guarantee you they all have a couple of things in common (and no it’s not just a good metabolism!!): 1) working out on a regular basis 2) making healthy food choices 80% of the time 3) eating small meals/snacks 4-6 times per day. It’s about showing up and about making choices that are sustainable. I am offering 2 nutrition seminars this Fall in an attempt to give you some ammunition to lose those unwanted pounds and keep them off. Mark your calendars for: Saturday, Sept 29th at 1:30 for Mood Mind & AppetiteAND Thursday Nov 29th at 6:45pm for Food on the Go 101 ...OR consider keeping a food diary for a week and setting up a private nutrition consult with me. Would love to help you on your journey to a fitter you forever!!
