We are all aware that about this time of year those New Year’s Resolutions have started to fade away. We see it in the numbers in classes…many of you are living it first hand as your good intentions of getting in shape and making it to class have perhaps begun to lessen. SO Body Language has created its own annual MARCH MADNESS CHALLENGE to keep you motivated and on track.
Here’s the deal…we are challenging you to show up to ANY 20 classes in the month of March and are encouraging you to attend my Eat Right, Live Strong nutrition workshop offered on Sunday March 3rd from 3-430 pm. We feel that the combination of showing up to classes and empowering yourself with sound nutrition information will increase the likelihood of staying on track. The longer you stay on track, the more likely you are to develop some new habits that will help you to be a fitter and healthier YOU year round!!
Here’s just a couple of tips to make you more successful…
1. Mix it up…muscle confusion is your friend. You will see better results and move off of plateaus if you do a bigger variety of classes. AND, you are less likely to get bored with the same classes and therefore are more likely to stick with it.
2. Try not to take more than one day off between your workouts…your metabolism stays elevated for 48 hours after you workout so when you take more than one day off between, your energy levels drop, you burn fewer calories, and you tend to turn to sugary empty calorie foods to boost energy levels
3. Attend at least one yoga class per week…sometimes when we are on a mission (myself included), we prioritize getting our cardio and weights in at the expense of our brains. Stress is the leading factor in pretty much every disease state known to man. So schedule a date with your yoga mat to relax and chill at least once per week.
So that’s a start…March Madness: Its only $10 to play which includes my nutrition seminar and if you succeed in attending 20 classes you will win a super cute turquoise (did you know that’s my favorite color?) to-go tumbler. Staff and students are encouraged to play and you have until March 10th to sign up or better yet, make a commitment to yourself and sign up TODAY!!
