Hey guys…just wanted to give you a heads up about the changes taking place this summer at BL.   First of all, these changes are not taking place until Monday, June 17th.  This is in large part due to the fact that many of our teachers are also school teachers, and are available at different times during the summer but not until school lets out.  Secondly, these changes only are in effect until Labor Day when we switch to our Fall schedule.  So, if you love a class let us know and maybe we will find a spot for it in the Fall, and if you’re not a big fan of a class, still let us know but remember its only for 11 weeks!!  Also encouraging you to look at these schedule changes as an opportunity to get in and shake things up…good for your body and for your brain.  Oh, and if you’re playing our Summer Shake Up Challenge, it gives you an opportunity to grab more stickers.  Just 20 stickers representing 20 different teachers from June 1st until Labor day, and the cute duffel bag sported on our BL mannequin is yours!!!  

So here goes…

On the yoga side we are adding new teacher, Carrie Pfau.  She has subbed at BL in the past on and off but now has a regular slot on Mondays at 6:45pm.  AND, the format she is teaching is a bit different as well.  We are calling it Core Vinyasa.  What differentiates it from our other yoga classes is that the Vinyasa Flows will be guided, meaning that instead of turning you loose to flow on your own, Carrie will talk you through the flows pose by pose.  This may be especially appealing to those expressing concern about remembering the postures in a sequence, and will allow students to get the same vinyasa benefits but while being guided through.  Secondly, in between the vinyasa flows, Carrie will be including segments focused on your core.   Who doesn’t want more ab work, right??  If you like Carrie’s style (oh and you will…she’s awesome!!) you can find her on Saturday mornings as well, subbing many of our yoga classes!!   Welcome Carrie!!

The fitness side has many changes…

Due to the popularity of Brians 7:45am p90x classes, we are adding 2 more: 6:45am P90x on both Monday and Friday.  Yea Brian!  We are thrilled to have more of you.   Please note that this is only for the summer as Brian’s family commitments change once those 2 adorable daughters of his need dad around to get them off to school in the am.  Because of the increasing popularity of this time slot, we decided to shift Alicia and little Deb over so that Deb will be teaching Tuesday 645am Fit Ball and Alicia will teach Thursday 6:45am Weight Training.  So, those of you looking to get your day started early this summer have lots of early morning workout choices!!   5:45am-ers please note just a bit of shuffling…Deb moves to Thursdays with her Crazy Cardio class and Carey to Tuesdays with Kickboxing.  In addition to adding the Fit Ball to the 6:45am time slot, we are adding one on Fridays at 9:00am with Toni.   Toni is one of those school teachers who has some more time available this summer, so watch for her subbing here and there as well.   She is also adding POUND to her Piyo class on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm.  POUND uses the drum sticks to create different rhythms as you work your body and then she will be combining that format with the Pilates/Yoga moves of Piyo.  Riley, our youngest teacher on staff, is off from high school and will be introducing a brand new class called Step n Groove Mondays at 9:00am.  If you’ve been to Riley’s Zumba classes, you know she can dance, so she is combining her love of dance with a little stepping on the bench.  Really a fun combo…Check it out!!   Some of you may have met Jami (fitness Jami…not to be confused with yoga Jamie) when she subs for Tanci.  This summer Jami will be teaching her own Strong class on Thursday nights at 5:30pm and Tanci will still bel covering Thursday mornings at 9:00am but she is changing the class format to HITT the Floor…High Intensity Interval Training mixed in with Tanci’s off the charts Hip Hop moves!  Lastly, we are moving Marie’s Wednesday Pilates class from 11 to 10:00am   This will give you a chance to get your Pilates in earlier and gives our other Deb (who was teaching barre at 10am on Wednesdays) a chance to hang out with her 2 new grand babies for the summer.  

Phew…So there’s just a very small sneak peek into some of the behind the scene rationale for moving things around a couple of times a year.   Remember…if you love it…let us know and if you don’t…ITS ONLY 11 WEEKS!!
