This week I am handing my antics off to Alicia who manages our Body’s Blast Board. An opportunity for you to help BL serve our community!! Check it out...
There’s just over three weeks left in 2019 and a new decade is upon us! Where did the last 10 years go?!For the remaining weeks in December we will be collecting items at Body Language for local families in need. Open Door Outreach Center shared their GREATEST NEEDS list and those items include:
Toilet Paper
Paper Towel
Laundry Soap
Dish Soap
Bar Soap
Hygiene items
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Feminine products
Shampoo
Conditioner
Winter Mittens & Hats
Non-perishable food items
You can drop off any of these items at BL now through January 3 to give back and share your blessings. If your grocery list includes toilet paper, grab an extra pack for a family that can’t afford it. If you pass by mittens while you’re shopping, think of someone that could use them. As you brush your teeth tonight, don’t take for granted that someone out there can’t afford dental care, let alone a toothbrush. During this time of giving, it’s also a great opportunity to find gratitude for all that we have.
In 2018, Open Door Outreach Center:
Fed 8,381 Hungry People.
Helped 3,463 Families.
Distributed 202,353 Meals.
Distributed 242,827 lbs. of Food.
Distributed over $70,620 of Clothing & Household Items to people in need.
If giving donations just isn’t in the cards right now, there are so many other ways to give back! Invite a friend that’s been having a hard time to a yoga class, give a smile to a stranger, mail a hand-written card to a loved one, buy a cup of coffee for a veteran, volunteer your time, the list goes on and on.
We have such an incredible community at Body Language — thank you in advance for your generosity!

**Our guest Antics writer this week is Alicia Long, instructor and social media manager at BL. One of her favorite volunteer opportunities is taking her 2 boys (ages 4 & 6) to a nursing home in Pontiac and passing out stockings to seniors in need.
