Hey guys…just touching base…checking in and saying hi!! Kind of like my BL State of the Union I guess!!
I’m just coming in from this beautiful day!! Wow…did we all need that sunshine picker upper or what??!! After taking Brian’s live class this am, I took a walk in the park with a friend and even put my top down on my convertible on the drive home!! I saw tons of people out walking and soaking up the sun…. Such a feel good day!!
But as some of you saw me comment on Chris’ FB post (the one when she was confessing her chocolate chip cookie splurge), not every day has been a good day for me. In fact, two days ago, all of this hit me hard…I came home from BL after receiving the news about our most recent lock down, feeling defeated and discouraged. Needless to say, I was a hot mess (ask my quarantine buddies, Brie and Dave). Anyway, it took me a couple of hours to pull my head out of my ass…shake it off and get back to work!! I share this with you because I know I’m not alone…not every day is going to be a good day. All that is being thrown at us right now is unprecedented, scary, and has the potential for creating a great deal of anxiety. It just hits us at different times and in different ways. (See the 150 plus comments on Chris’ posts to know you’re not alone!!).
BUT…I just wanted to remind all of us to look for the silver linings in all of this. One of those for BL has been the ability to rally staff to create this new virtual BL!! Our initial intent was to create an online presence to tide students over while we were closed…to give our students an option to stay fit and healthy but while staying at home.

The silver linings have already been unmeasurable. We have heard from many feeling socially isolated just thrilled to be able to connect with their BL community!! We have heard from students who have moved all over the country and the world so grateful to have familiar faces in their living rooms! We have heard from many students who were nervous about taking a particular class, actually trying it for the first time…AND We have heard from so many who have been intimidated by walking through the doors of BL, saying that when the doors re-open they will be the first in line!!
Not every day is going to be a good day…but when the social isolation and discouragement starts to seep in, I have this BL community to lean on…and so do you!! So grateful for each and every one of you…let’s keep supporting one another virtually until we can re unite in person once again!!
Cheers from afar!!!
Andrea
