So, I was going back through some old antics and ran across the message below. Just reading it conjured up so many emotions associated with this time. I started to feel all the fear of loss and uncertainty that I had as I wrote this message to my much loved BL community 1 1/2 years ago. Take a minute to re-read this message and I think that it may evoke some of these emotions in you as well...
Andrea's Antics dated March 16th 2020
Hey guys... well I hung on as long as I could!! Obviously, there is no precedent to know how to handle this craziness, but I was convicted up until the morning that staying open was still the right decision. I know that not everyone agreed with that decision and that others were thrilled with it, but I was just going with my gut. Anyway, as you have likely heard, the Governor made that decision for us and we are officially closed effective 3 pm today. All classes and massages are cancelled for the time being. As of now, they are saying until March 31st, but as we are all painfully aware, this could change daily.
We are working on an online presence to allow you to stay fit and healthy through this time. Just subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay tuned for content being uploaded from a handful of our amazing BL instructors. These are crazy times for all of us!!! Many of you know how hard it is for me to even type these words tight now, but I am committed to seeing you in the other side!!!
Why am I revisiting this message? BECAUSE... it serves as a reminder to all of us how far we have come. As familiar faces start to reappear, I am blown away by all of the "covid stories". Everyone has one! This last year has taken a toll on all of us, but hearing the stories of persistence and perseverance has only made us stronger. For me, it has made me even more convicted to continue to provide us all with a space to come together and stay healthy; to once again be able to support one another and to share our stories; to lift each other up and be there for one another. It's been SO great to re-unite with a few more returning students every day now and I am thrilled to be typing this message to you knowing we have indeed landed on "the other side". And although I am painfully aware that we have some more climbing out to do, I am just thrilled to be moving in a positive direction.
Suggesting that we all take a moment today to just reflect on where we are and where we have come from and to pat ourselves on the back for whatever it took for us to get where we are today!!
Cheers to you, to us, and to our BL community!
Andrea
