Valentine's day is a celebration of love and happiness. Body Language isn't just a place to exercise; it's a community for each other, in ways that show love and care, not just for our bodies, but for our hearts too.
When Marie brought up the idea to Jamie to introduce her dad to Jamie's mom, neither of them knew what the outcome would be. Well, here is our story and how exercising at Body Language became a Valentine's Day celebration of love every day.
Firstly, let me tell you, Jim and I are senior citizens, and we are passionately and happy in love. Our first date was lunch that ended up being three hours long. We talked about old movies, our kids, our grandchildren, careers, retirements, and our spouses who passed before us. After a few months of dating, he confessed he fell in love with me. I must admit I was scared to think about love; it was hard enough knowing how to maneuver through the dating minefield! But I, too, was falling in love. At his birthday party at Marie’s, he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes. The thought of spending the rest of what life I have left with Jim was too good to be true.
Shortly after his proposal I came down with Covid-19 They nursed me back to health and Marie suggested we get married sooner than our August date. After all, she and Jamie reminded us, we had nothing to wait for at our ages, and each day was a gift. With lockdown underway, and Jamie and Marie as our witnesses, we were one of the first zoom weddings!
May 9th, we celebrate two wonderful and fun-filled years together as husband and wife. We are so blessed to have found each other later in life. So, remember, Valentine's Day isn't just for the young, it's for everyone, and you never know what you may find when you exercise at Body Language.
