I just got back from a hiking trip out in Sedona.  There were a couple of take homes from this trip that I’d like to share with you!!


1) Be where your feet are. We’ve all heard this time and time again but how does it apply to your daily life.  When my brain ran away from me while hiking, I had the blue sky and the amazing orange mountains to bring me back and help me focus on being present. But when we’re home and back in our daily grind, it becomes a bit more challenging.  A couple of suggestions:  Pay attention to the food you are eating…the taste of it, the texture of it, the smell of it. Pay attention to the world around you…the sunsets, the trees, the breeze. Pay attention to the sensations inside of you…the beating of your heart, the temperature of your skin, the sound of your breath. Be where your feet are.

2) Keep Moving. I’ve often been heard threatening to write a book and thinking the title will be…Keep Moving Bi#@tches!!  It kind of says it all!! Bottom line is to keep moving your body and keep working your brain. Get up every day and vow to do it again!!

3) Hike More…Worry Less. This one needs no explanation. And in an effort to practice what I preach I’m heading down to Hocking Hills for another hike this weekend. The plan is to put a few cares and concerns on the back burner and just move my body while enjoying the gifts of nature.

I look forward to moving into some beautiful summer weather these next couple of months, which will allow all of us to weave in some outdoor adventures with our time on our mats!!
