I have spoken with so many students lately who are thinking about joining Body Language’s teacher training but who just haven’t quite made the leap. So, I just wanted to take a few moments of your time to tell you a little more about our program and why you might want to consider joining us.
First of all, although I am the creator and coordinator of the program, I am just one of a whole team of teachers who lead the training sessions. If you look around at other programs, you will find that this is very rare. There is typically one person who leads the entire training which was originally me. But over the years, I have been able to add other teachers into the training who have way more expertise in certain areas than I do. This has really added depth and value to our program. For example, Ronda has a Ph.D in psychology and she leads many of the sessions especially those related to how yoga can help you deal with anxiety and depression. Margie is a physical therapist and she leads the sessions on anatomy, the Respiratory and Nervous systems. As a Registered Dietitian I lead the sessions on nutrition and how yoga can be an effective tool in managing your health and weight. These are just a couple of examples of the amazing staff we have in place to lead the training. Having all these teachers with their depth of knowledge in different areas is a huge value added to our program and is singlehandley what sets us apart if you’re looking around at different studio’s trainings.
I would say about half of the students going through the training do so because they want to teach. Yoga has impacted their lives in some way and they want to learn the tools to be able to share their yoga story with others. But the other half of students join the training because they simply want to learn more about yoga. They want to delve deeper. Some are brand new to yoga while others have been practicing for years. Some want to learn more about the physical aspects of yoga like alignment or how to do a headstand while others may be more interested in how yoga can calm their minds or help them manage the stress in their lives. The awesome thing is that this training covers it all…the physical, the mental and the emotional.
The training is broken up in 2 sessions. Fall kicks off September 24th and runs until the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Winter will start the end of January and run for 2 months as well. You can start with either session but after completion of both, you will get a certificate from Body Language saying that you have completed 200 hours of training. Since BL is already an approved school , you just send this certificate to Yoga Alliance and they send you a certificate that is nationally recognized.
The 200 hours includes these training sessions, classes you attend during the training and reading. The reading can be done before, during or after the training. Whatever works best for you and your schedule. Most of the sessions are Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 12:30-3:30. (Full schedule can be found on our website.). 2022 Teacher Training Schedule
One of the huge perks of this program is that we record all the sessions. So if you have to miss any of them, you can watch at another time that’s convenient for you.
In addition to all of the above, the training just offers a huge immersion into yoga side by side with others looking to deepen their practice. This results in a real camaraderie amongst the trainees and in many instances, long term connections.
So there you go. Yes, it is a big commitment time wise and financially but consider it an investment in bettering yourself. (You can save $200 by signing up before Sept 10t and we also have a payment plan option.) One thing I know for sure is that you will love the experience and be glad you made the leap!! Consider this a loving nudge!!
Feel free to reach out to me personally with any questions or concerns. Would love to have you join us!!!
