I wonder how many of you know Body Language’s tag line?? Here’s a hint…it’s found spelled out with different colored metal letters above the lockers in the Link. Anyone?? Next time you’re in the Link be sure to look up and you’ll see it.
Work…Sweat…Play!!
Chris and I came up with this saying to describe our approach to how we have chosen to run Body Language but also as an encouragement for you, our clients, to find this balance in your own lives as well.
First of all we WORK hard to run this big ship we call BL!! It takes a lot to give our students a top notch experience you have all come to expect. Chris and I put in countless hours on scheduling, marketing, managing a huge staff, and creating a space and environment where students can connect and feel welcome.
Secondly, we SWEAT!! It’s a big part of what BL is all about. Our business model is based on keeping you healthy, so we provide lots of opportunities for you to SWEAT it out and detox both mind and body.
Last, but certainly not least, we PLAY!! WORKing and SWEATing are both way more fun and sustainable when there is a layer of PLAY mixed in!! At BL we try to weave in the PLAY with events like girls nights and social hours after workshops. Also we promote PLAY with the creation of the area we call the Link. It gives staff and students an opportunity to connect with one another, foster conversations, and in many cases friendships, and to have space to PLAY!!
So Chris and I are presently out in California practicing what we preach. What brought us out here was a MINDBODY BOLD conference. This annual conference gives us ideas, best business practices, and motivation to keep making BL the place you want to work out and hang out!! So this, of course, is the WORK part. But while we were out here, we are working on the SWEAT and the PLAY portions of our tag line as we flew in a few days early to hike Yosemite. A couple of days of spectacular views and amazing hikes.
We are encouraging all of you to do the same. Take a look at the balance of these 3 areas in your life and see that you are incorporating ample time for your workouts/SWEAT as well as time to have some fun/PLAY amidst the WORK in your life.
