I want to personally invite you to consider joining our Yoga Teacher Training which starts January 28th of 2023. I’m guessing that many of you will have the same initial reaction to this invitation. Maybe you’re saying to yourself…I have no interest in teaching yoga. BUT what you might be surprised to find out is that over ½ of the individuals registering for this training are just interested in deepening their practice and understanding of yoga and not necessarily interested in actually teaching yoga. I wanted to share with you the three intentions that I have for all students attending this training. Here you go…
1) To provide each student with information, tools, and workshops to get more out of your yoga practice. Many of us (including myself) found yoga through the “physical door.” Students are looking to increase range of motion, to become more flexibility, to improve balance, to relieve chronic pain or even to tighten up their abs and back sides!! These are all great reasons to practice yoga and many of the sessions included in this training will give you more knowledge in anatomy, alignment, use of props and inversions to enhance your physical practice.
2) To help each student understand how yoga can be much more than a physical practice…how it can help to
a. Be less stressed
b. More relaxed
c. More connected with ourselves
d. Be less anxious and depressed
e. Less attached to how things “should be”
f. More mindful on and off your mat
g. Manage emotional eating
3) To arm you with enough knowledge to be able to share your yoga with someone else. Another way I like to put this is “to be able to share your yoga story.” This might be in the form of…
a. Becoming a yoga teacher
b. Sharing benefits of yoga with your friends and family
c. Understanding how yoga affects your relationship with…
i. Food
ii. Addictive Behaviors
iii. Others
iv. Yourself
So I encourage you just to consider joining us for this training. Maybe for one or more of the reasons listed above…maybe because it’s just good for our brains to be constantly learning new things…or maybe because it allows you to be deeply connected with your fellow trainees as you form a little community within our BL community
