It’s that time of year when so many students make a decision to re-commit to their wellness. Classes start to fill up at Body, students begin showing up who have been gone for awhile, everyone’s fired up and ready to go!! Of course this is wonderful news especially if you own a fitness and yoga studio…BUT even better would be if we still saw you fired up and attending classes come March!! It’s one thing to make a commitment to wellness but it’s a whole lot more effective when you actually stick with it. It’s human nature. We jump inwith both feet and then fizzle out because we can’t maintain. Many of us do it in different areas of our lives. It’s an all or nothing mentality that consistently just doesn’t work in the long run.
My advice to you is to come up with a workout plan that is sustainable. Map out a schedule maybe every Sunday afternoon that works for you for the next week. Use the BL app to sign up for classes 7 days in advance as classes ARE filling up, but also because it helps keep you accountable. 3-4 workouts per week is great if you’re looking to maintain where you’re at but if you’re looking to lose a few pounds maybe shoot for 4-5 times per week. Now if you haven’t worked out for the past 3 years, ease your way in. Start out slow. And regardless of how many times you are working out per week be sure to mix it up. You will see much better results when your body is a little confused by the variety of muscles needed for your different workouts.
So there you go…one week at a time…one workout at a time!
Let’s make 2023 a whole year of committing to a leaner and healthier you!! Cheers!!
