Body Language’s foundation is, of course, our fitness & yoga program. Our whole business model is based on the importance of exercise for both our physical and mental health. That being said, working out and practicing yoga is really only half of the wellness equation...The other half is “what are you putting in your mouth.” As some of you are aware, my degree is actually in Nutrition. I am a Registered Dietitian and I am super passionate about sharing sound nutrition information with all our BL peeps!! So twice a year, I offer a nutrition seminar geared at arming all of you with knowledge and tools to manage your health and your waistlines more effectively. The next one is Wednesday, November 6th and is titled Mood, Mind, & Appetite.

While most of my nutrition seminars focus on what and what not to eat, this one is a little different. This is because I have found that most of us are painfully aware of the types of food choices we SHOULD be making. But we are missing the other ½ of the eating equation which addresses the WHY’s. WHY do we eat foods we know aren’t good for us? WHY do we continue to eat after we know we are already full? WHY do we crave different foods at different times of our lives? The answers to these questions rest in understanding a bit more about our brain chemistry. I have found that this knowledge helps to equip us with that missing piece of the puzzle that could not only boost your energy levels but help you shed those unwanted pounds once and for all.

Over the years of owning BL, I am frequently approached by students determined to lose weight. As much as I applaud determination, sometimes it’s not enough, or more often than not, I see students SO determined to lose weight that it’s at the expense of their health. I am commmitted to giving you the knowledge to add to your determination to lose weight so that you can understand why you overeat when you’re maybe tired, bored, or angry. So that you can start to understand the difference between our physiological need for food (HUNGER) and our desire for food (APPETITE). So you can apply this information to lose those unwanted pounds in a way that not only maintains but actually betters your health.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 6th from 7:15 - 8:30 pm. It’s time invested in YOU!!

Would love to have you join us!!
