Slow Flow

This class is taught by:

Shawn Jones

Hi! I’m Shawn Jones. I have been practicing yoga regularly since 2006 and have been a member of Body Language since 2007. I went through Andrea’s Teacher Training program in 2010. The experience deepened my practice and made me even more passionate about yoga! I love teaching and sharing everything this practice has to offer. I’m so happy to have found this wonderful community. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, reading and spending time with my husband and 2 daughters. I look forward to meeting you and having you in one of my classes!

Sandra Riccardi

My yoga journey began at Body Language over 25 years ago when I took my very first ever class. From that moment forward, I knew I was home, both in my body and spirit. After retiring from teaching in the Waterford School District for 30 years, I attended yoga teacher training at the Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville North Carolina. During my time in the classroom, I received a Trauma Healing Certification and find it deepens my connection to the power of yoga. Off the mat, I am an avid golfer, reader and love to cook. My husband (of 32 years)and I also love to travel, bringing our rescue cats (Owen and Henry) whenever possible.

Jennifer H Hill

Hello Everyone! My name is Jennifer Hill. My friend, Chris Lundin, kept bugging me for years to come and try yoga at Body Language. So when I got bored with my fitness routine, I took her up on the offer. I have been active most of my life...running, aerobic classes, weight training, etc. but when I took my first yoga class, Vinyassa, I was completely hooked. It felt perfect to my body and spirit. Vinyassa is my favorite form of yoga. It is physically challenging, creative, and juicy! It became my calming refuge as I was raising three children, working and taking care of a sick parent. Now, I want to assist others in finding the joy on their mat as well as off their mat that I have found while practicing yoga. This fall I plan on enhancing my teaching certification by becoming Yoga Alliance Certified. Namaste'

Kari Feigley

My yoga journey began a few years ago when a doctor recommended I try yoga to deal with my chronic ankle pain. After my first class ( at Body Language ) I knew I had found something super special. Like many others I was instantly hooked on not only the physical benefits of my yoga practice, but also the amazing impact it had on my mental wellbeing. I completed my training with Andrea and the BL team in the spring of 2017 and have been teaching since! Although my yoga teaching journey has just begun, I’m so excited to share it with all of you! In my free time you can find me in a class at Body Language, hanging out with my family and enjoying Michigan summers on the lake.

Jamie Oldfield

Jamie began her yoga journey as a teen, when at a young age she was diagnosed with scoliosis, her doctor at the time advised yoga as a way of keeping her spine strong and supple. At that time it was just a way for her to keep from having back pain, it wasn't until later did she realize the impact of yoga on her life daily. In 2008 Jamie became a certified yoga teacher. She teaches, power vinyasa, ashtanga, better backs, SUP yoga and meditation. She is a Lululemon Legacy ambassador and with her background in improv at Second City Detroit she ofter sprinkles humor in her classes. When not teaching or taking classes, you can find Jamie either reading or trekking in the woods with their dog Pepper or adventure traveling with her scuba diving husband and 2 children. Ricky Penn

Body Language has been an important part of my life for a LONG time. I started as a member here in 1985 (!) Three owners and 3 locations later, I am still here - working out, practicing yoga, managing the desk, and teaching yoga. Guess you could say I really like this place! I decided to train for and teach yoga to others because it has had such a profound and positive effect on my own life. When I am not here, I am busy with my business as a fiber artist at home in West Bloomfield. My life is blessed with great friends, three wonderful children, and, as a yoga instructor, the opportunity to help my students find their way into yoga and all it has to offer.

Claudia Sommerville

Hello! I’m Claudia! My yoga journey began about 6 years ago. I
started yoga to find a new outlet for my mind and body after I was no
longer playing basketball competitively. After a couple yoga classes at Body Language I fell in love with the physical and mental benefits of yoga. My yoga mat quickly became one of my favorite places to be. I completed my yoga teacher training with Andrea at Body Language in the Spring of 2021. The training has deepened my practice and I’m excited to share what I have learned with all of you on your mats. In my free time you can find me hiking, playing basketball, doing yoga and spending time with my family and husband on the lake. I hope to see you in class soon! “

Kim H. Hakala

I took my first barre class at Body Language in 2017 and absolutely loved it. I trained and became a certified barre instructor shortly thereafter and am thrilled to be teaching the “Simply Barre” class on Fridays.
Hope to see you all there!
