As you read these words, picture me sitting in a swinging chair overlooking Lake Michigan....in fact the only thing separating me from this vast body of water is about 6 feet of sand. Our family has vacationed here at this family camp in Arcadia Michigan on and off for the past 3 decades. Read More

Most of you have had a chance to meet my 2 youngest daughters at Body over the years, but many of you have likely not had the chance to meet my oldest daughter, Jamie, who lives in Atlanta with her husband, Brett. I'm sitting at my kitchen table looking out at another fabulous Michigan day!! My husband, Dave, is working out in our yard trying to spruce up our landscaping. We purchased our home 3 years ago from the original owners who had let the landscaping become pretty unkempt. Dave is pulling out bushes that have rotted, died, or just beyond help, and then replacing some of these with new plants. Read More

If you happened to be in one of my yoga classes last week, you may have heard me share this story. But for the others of you, I think it bares repeating. A couple of years ago I broke my leg in an extreme polka dancing incident...yep...it's true!! Well needless to say, and given my line of business, it represented a pretty hearty "adjusting of my sails." Read More

So I'm down in Orlando for a random last minute girls trip, and the decision was made for all 7 of us to wear matching Mickey Mouse shirts as well as ears!! Thousands of years ago a guy named Patanjali wrote the yoga sutras...a set of guidelines for us to practice both on and off our mats. The intention of these guidelines is that if we try to follow them we will have a more blissful life...or maybe another way to describe it is we will experience less self imposed suffering and more inner peace. He identifies 5 obstacles to this peace with 1 of them being "attachments." Read More
